Foxtrot
Foxtrot originated in 1914 by the Vaudeville actor Harry Fox. It was one of the most innovative and exciting dances of its time. It gained its popularity when it appeared on other stages. After many appearances the dance was known as "Fox's Trot" or Foxtrot.
Foxtrot is composed of a series of slows and quicks, giving the dance great flexibility. It is danced to 4/4 time music, and typically is done to a slow jazzy beat. Foxtrot seems to stroll along the dance floor, and looks effortless. It is great for dancers of all levels and will continually provide a challenge.
